Two favorite Las Vegas casinos



New York New York is one of my favorite Las Vegas casinos for several reasons. Aside from the beautiful Statue of Liberty that stands out for blocks, there are other reasons to see this casino. One of the reasons is the ambience of the casino with its shops that surround the casino floor. You can get a New York pizza or a New York hotdog. The shops are laid out like old time New York shops of a by-gone era. If you are looking for a great pastrami sandwich you will find it here.

The entertainment can be enjoyed in the authentic Irish Pub or at their Las Vegas type show which has accumulated many accolades, called Cirque du Soleil

Rooms at the New York New York are very comfortable and offer the guest a nice place to stay without a huge outlay of money. Early reservations are always the smart move.

The gaming at the New York New York is not much different than what you would find at other Vegas casinos, except the shops that surround the floor give the playing area a different air to it. The slots are standard fair with multiline slots and poker machines. The slot limits are one cent to $100. They have the obligatory Megabucks slot machines for those that want to take a flyer at a big payout. For sports betting try the race and sports book.

The table games have two limits. One is $10 to $2000 and then the High-Roller limit is $100 to $5000 per play. These table games include Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat, Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride and Three Card Poker. There are always a few tables of new games the casinos are trying out to see if there is any interest.

As with all Las Vegas casinos, the visitor should check to see what room specials are available via the Internet. Non-holiday days are always going to be cheaper than holidays or weekend nights. You may want to check with the Las Vegas Visitor's Center to see if they have any specials also.

Each year a visit to Las Vegas is different as there is always a new casino to visit and try your luck. This adult playground is a one of a kind marvel in the whole world of places to see. When you visit make sure you see the New York New York.

Luxor Casino
Another choice of my favorite Las Vegas casinos is the spectacular Luxor with its pyramid shape. This casino with its eye-catching architecture and the rooms with slanted windows is unusual in many ways. When you are in your room watch your head as the windows follow the slant of the building and the top is closer to you than the bottom when you walk toward the window.

This casino has the standard Las Vegas games on the casino floor, which includes both table games and slots. There is also a poker room and a race and sports book. Like most of the Las Vegas casinos there are some special deals for High Rollers. At the Luxor they have a part of their casino floor set aside for high roller players. The limits are $100 to $5000 per play.

Like the other Las Vegas casinos they offer Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker and Craps. The limits on the games outside of the high roller area are reduced for the average player visiting Las Vegas.

Entertainment at the Luxor includes the showgirl type show called Fantasy. There is also a current comic called Carrot Top and another show called the Ronn Lucas Show.

Fine dining is in vogue at the Luxor. You can go to the Backstage Deli or the Luxor Steakhouse, which features succulent prime rib and a list of fine wines. There are other food variations within the Luxor pyramid to tempt your palette and end your need for sustenance.

The rooms in this casino offer great views of the fabulous Las Vegas strip and its unique skyline. Like other Las Vegas casinos the rates depend on the day of the week and if there is a holiday involved. Reservations at the earliest date are always recommended.

Conclusions
Both of these casino hotels offer the VIP guest very special treatment. If your action qualifies you as a High Roller then you should ask for the VIP treatment that both casinos offer this kind of player. If you meet their requirements you will be taken care of in a grand manner.

These two Las Vegas casinos offer a casino playground that is radically different from each other. They both have their strengths that make visiting either a worthwhile venture. If you win the visit will be better yet, but even if you only break even, you will enjoy the time spent at both casinos.
