A fire burnt the top of three wings of the Monte Carlo casino in Las Vegas Nevada on Friday. There was luckily no injuries but employees and guests had to leave. The fire was mainly an exterior fire but there was some slight internal damage to some of the rooms unfortunately. How the fire was caused is unknown but there were welders working on the roof that could have certainly been a cause of the fire. The fire fighters were lucky to be able to deal with this fire as dealing with fires externally on high rise buildings like this is difficult and they needed to hang out of the windows of the hotel to gain control over the fire. US helicopters were kept on alert if the fire spiralled out of control but this was not necessary. In 1980 a fire at the MGM killed 80 and 700 were injured so there were fears with this fire.
