Las Vegas Sands is not interested in running any land casinos in the UK

US gambling giant Las Vegas Sands is not interested in running any casinos in Britain after the government has decided to not go ahead with the Manchester Casino. Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown in the last couple of months have certainly made London look unattractive to billionaires and business investments that we hope they come to the right decision and start supporting these investments. With the Uk's new taxes on non-doms the UK could quite possibly loose many of its wealthy billionaires and investments.

"We spent a lot of time with the folks there (in Britain), trying to figure out how to do a larger style of gaming," said William Weidner, Chief Operating Officer of Las Vegas Sands "That didn't work. Mr Brown pretty well shut that down." Gordon Brown is still expected to give the go ahead to many smaller casinos but US large companies thinking of investment are not drawn to the UK due to the unsettled ground Gordon brown is creating.
