European Online Casinos File Complaint Against Germany

The new German law restricting German citizens from playing at online casinos outside the country has come under fire with the filing of a complaint with the European Commission. The contention is the law violates the agreement between European countries to free movement of services.

There is a good chance that the complaint may succeed as the complaint has been filed by a group of very large online casino companies. If the complaint holds up, the law will need to be changed or a fine will be accessed. If this law is not found to be a violation, this will be another strike against the online casino industry. This will have a similar effect that the US Law has had in preventing US players from playing on European online casinos. Hopefully both laws will be changed to allow the free use of the Internet to play at any casino.

Restrictions of personal conduct are very difficult to keep in place when the restricted people do not agree with the restriction. Many US players have found ways around the banking rules the US government put in place. The law has just made it less convenient for US players. German players will do the same if this law stays in place.
