A new Skill With Prizes (SWP) game, closely based on a mega-hit TV show, can now be played at Internet casino and sportsbook Ladbrokes.com. British online games company JPM Interactive have developed its ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ title based on the existing SWP format where a player chooses a stake which in turn alters the highest amount which can be won on the prize tree. The maximum payout for a beginning stake of £1 is £20, increasing to up to £100 for a £5 stake. One of the main benefits to Ladbrokes is that the game has taken many of its familiar aspects from the hugely popular TV show – questions getting harder the further a player progresses, rewards increasing for each correct answer, guaranteed prize levels at certain points, and so on. Even the famous ‘three lifelines’ make an appearance, although they need to be won at the beginning of the game by correctly completing a ‘fastest finger first’ round. There are however some aspects of the game which do not feature on the TV show, for example there is a time element – all questions must be answered against the clock, and the game ends if time runs out. Duncan Cheadle, Managing Director for JPM Interactive, said “Millionaire is one of the most popular SWP games ever and it is only a natural progression to have it online”.
