Casinos have been warned about iphone card counting program

Casinos in Las Vegas Nevada have been warned about a card counting program for the iphone that allows users to count cards giving them an unfair advantage over the casino.  Card counting its self is not illegal in online casinos as long as you use your mind but no devices such as this iphone program.  The Nevada game control board issued a warning to casinos about this last week to ensure they are aware and protect themselves.  A program like this could easily lose casinos millions of dollars, yet most casinos don’t allow mobile phones anywhere near the gaming tables for this very reason.

Packers casino in Macau in desperate need of high rollers

Gangster Rap was banned from casinos in 2006 and still stands

In 2006 gangster rap was banned from casinos as casino operators thought it caused violent behavior this still stands.  Still casinos don’t allow rap concerts which would attract tons of customers but they don’t want the violent behavior related to it.  The likes of 50 cent are heard in the clubs in the casinos as without hip hop they could not really attract the punters but certainly not on the casino floor.  Why don’t the rappers invest their millions of dollars into their own high roller casinos is vegas I really think it would take off.  Imagine another Playboy style casino in vegas owned by the likes of 50 cent with all the ballers and hip hop music business throwing the big chips down on the tables and sipping cristal.  Victoria Beckham has just entered the high roller casino business with Eva Longora if this takes off this may attract many other celebs to do so.

Casinos not proving recession proof

Casinos are not proving recession proof which they once were perceived to be.  Casinos shares have dropped 16% on the Las Vegas strip as people tighten their belts.  Room rates are being reduced and construction projects are having to be reconsidered.  Before it was easy to build casinos and investors only need to put up a quarter of the price for a multi million dollar line of credit now they have to put up half which is a huge difference.  The whole recession is down to over spending, and banks promoting overspending, eventually a down turn will happen and it has.  Casino developers were going aggressively forward and now they are going to have to suffer for awhile.

Is online gambling shady?

Alot of people still reckon online gambling is shady and unlike land casinos if they hit a big jackpot they wont be paid.  We have spoken about this once before on our site but are interested to see what people have to say.  The majority of people we have spoken to still don’t trust online gambling even after I have reassured them it is heavily monitored by gambling authorities.  One guy told us that when he came close to winning a jackpot the game froze and his winning cycle had disappeared when asking him what casino this was he said he could not remember.  Another player told us that he refused to gamble online having been a blackjack player in land casinos for over a decade as online he said he couldn’t properly see the dealer so didn’t trust it.  Some people thought it was a complete scam and would never go near it.  People believed the online casinos were set to guarantee you would lose.  If you think about this logically they don’t want you to lose outright as you would never come back and they want you to keep playing.  Casinos like to have big winners as that promotes other gamblers to come along and try their luck.  In Vegas when someone wins a jackpot sirens go off and coins come pouring out altogether the winning is very loud and encourages other players to play when they hear this and see players winning, they don’t have loud noises coming out the machines when people lose alot of money do they.  Email your views or please comment here so we can hear what people still think of online gambling.
