Hilton Casino resort hit with $115,000 fine for allowing underage gambling

This morning the Hilton Casino resort in Atlantic city was hit with a $115,000 fine for allowing underage gambling on their premises.  Their fine is second to the biggest fine received for allowing under 21’s to gamble in Bally’s Atlantic City $157000.  The Hilton casino resort has admitted to allowing an underage personal to gamble at the casino after a huge vote by the gambling commission to present the fine.

Dealer strikes in Atlantic City casinos

Dealers at two Atlantic city casinos have authorized a strike, no time plan has been set on the strike yet but 90% of dealers are in favor of the strike.  Casino revenue has been down in Atlantic city as competition from other neighboring casinos has risen so times have been tough for the dealers hence the rise of this strike out against management.  The casinos have said they are ready for the dealers strike, but as the dealers have given no mention of when the strike is it looks like they may have problem solving this problem instantly as it arises.

Smoking ban suspended in Atlantic City

The smoking ban which has killed hundreds of gambling related businesses in the UK such as bingo halls is also a big problem in Atlantic City.  Donald Trump last year tried very hard to get it over turned as he knew it would be very damaging to his business but failed.  The smoking ban would have seen a huge drop in gamblers but now it has been put back for a year.  Postponing this ban for another year will certianly help the gambling operators during this time of recession but in a year this ban is set to be brought in.  Currently in the UK online bingo is flourishing due to the ban on smoking making land bingo operators businesses very hard to run what the effects on Atlantic city will be like I wouldnt have thought to be this extreme due to the diversity of casino games and the varied style of punter from one off gamblers to big time high rollers.  In London the Mecca Kilburn state Bingo hall a world famous music venue before pictured below was shut down due to a huge loss in business because of the smoking ban.  We spoke to regulars of this establishment and they commented that they had turned to gambling online when they found out they couldn’t smoke anymore, they felt that they wouldnt really want to drink alcohol there and socialise as it goes hand in hand with smoking for them they said.
