Party Gaming was founded by Ruth Parasol who hired Anurag Dikshit as a software developer to create Party gaming.  Party Gaming quickly became one of the most popular online gambling networks on the net.  In June 2005 the directors sold 23% of their shares when the public floated on the LSE for $4.64 million at 166p a share.  In one month the floating of the company rose its value to over $12 billion.

A year or so later Party Gaming was seriously hit negatively by the UIGEA costing the company a huge amount of money and later sued for over a hundred million for targeting players in the USA despite the UIGEA.
