Is online gambling shady?

Alot of people still reckon online gambling is shady and unlike land casinos if they hit a big jackpot they wont be paid.  We have spoken about this once before on our site but are interested to see what people have to say.  The majority of people we have spoken to still don’t trust online gambling even after I have reassured them it is heavily monitored by gambling authorities.  One guy told us that when he came close to winning a jackpot the game froze and his winning cycle had disappeared when asking him what casino this was he said he could not remember.  Another player told us that he refused to gamble online having been a blackjack player in land casinos for over a decade as online he said he couldn’t properly see the dealer so didn’t trust it.  Some people thought it was a complete scam and would never go near it.  People believed the online casinos were set to guarantee you would lose.  If you think about this logically they don’t want you to lose outright as you would never come back and they want you to keep playing.  Casinos like to have big winners as that promotes other gamblers to come along and try their luck.  In Vegas when someone wins a jackpot sirens go off and coins come pouring out altogether the winning is very loud and encourages other players to play when they hear this and see players winning, they don’t have loud noises coming out the machines when people lose alot of money do they.  Email your views or please comment here so we can hear what people still think of online gambling.
