Chinese online gaming tycoon considers Liverpool FC buyout
Zhu Jun the chairman of Shanghai based online gaming company The9 Ltd is interested in buying Liverpool FC according to the media in China. Zhu Jun is not new to investing in football clubs, Zhu has a large share of a Chinese super league outfit Shanghai Shenhua. Liverpool FC’s current owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are asking for £800 million for the club which has put a lot of buyers off as the club is not doing particularly well at the moment. Zhu Jun is not the only person interested in the club at the moment, a few wealthy Liverpool fans are interested in purchasing the club alongside Yahya Kirdi a syrian international footballer and consortiums from Dubai.

Playtech getting ready for US market
Playtech software group are getting ready for the US’s possible imminent return to online gambling. Playtech stock today jumped 11% after Playtech partnered with Scientific Games Corporation, the two companies are going to work closely together to develop both online and land gambling products. The deal will most likely help Playtech get deals with US gambling operators. ”This deal sets Playtech apart as the market-leading technology provider in our [coverage] universe, with the means, scale, capabilities and likely traction to build a massive global entity with minimum upfront costs and strong potential returns,” James Hollins of the Wall Street journal commented. David Carruthers going to jail
David Carruthers of Betonsports was indicted in 2006 and accused of accepting bets from US punters online, he was sentenced to 33 months in jail. Carruthers has spent 3 years and 5 months under house arrest, 32 days in jail and will serve 33 months extra following his sentence. Carruthers has given away $43m to the US government and the company Betonsports was fined $28m. Gary Kaplan the founder of betonsports is doing 51 months in jail starting November. Related articles-

Poland finally pull the plug on online gambling
