Bondholders Block Trumps offer for Trump Casinos

The bondholders of Trump Entertainment Group filed a motion on Tuesday to Judge Judith Wizmur to block the $100 million Trump deal and instead accept their offer of $175 million plus $75 from the sale of the Trump Marina. Bondholders are standing up to protect their $1.2 billion investment made in February when Trump Entertainment went into debt of $1.2 billion.

Hilton Casino resort hit with $115,000 fine for allowing underage gambling

This morning the Hilton Casino resort in Atlantic city was hit with a $115,000 fine for allowing underage gambling on their premises. Their fine is second to the biggest fine received for allowing under 21′s to gamble in Bally’s Atlantic City $157000. The Hilton casino resort has admitted to allowing an underage personal to gamble at the casino after a huge vote by the gambling commission to present the fine.

Donald Trump makes offer on Trump Entertainment

Donald Trump has made an offer of $100 million for Trump Entertainment which owns casinos and hotels in Atlantic City, the company has accepted the offer but this needs to be rubber stamped by a bankruptcy judge, which will mean a return to the casino business for Donald Trump after in February where it had a $1.2bn debt. Trump says he will work with his daughter Ivanka to restore Trump Entertainment, Donald commented “As I have done in the past, we will make Atlantic City hot once more.” Trump boosted his brand and income dramatically once before through Trump Entertainment and it looks as if he’s going to be trying this again.

Thinking of going on a gambling vacation

Ladbrokes fears payout on Lily Allen

Lily Allen’s album “It’s not me” was backed at 50/1 to win the mercury award but after punters backed it with allot of money Ladbrokes have pushed it to 5/1. Due to the amount of punters betting on it at 50/1 and Ladbrokes having to push it to 5/1 has Ladbrokes scared of the chance it will win and they will have to pay out at the original odds. A Ladbrokes spokesperson commented that “We were stunned by the rush of bets which has snowballed this week”“We are staring down the barrel of a huge payout which could cost the industry thousands” In future Ladbrokes has commented they will have to stop these novelty bets to ensure this occurrence does not happen again which could cost Ladbrokes allot of money.

Ladbrokes and William Hill moving offshore

Two of Britain’s biggest bookmakers Ladbrokes and William Hill are thinking of moving offshore due to the UK 15% betting tax which they think is too high. Victor Chandler and Paddy Power pay 1.5% tax as they are based offshore. William Hill chief executive Ralph Topping is going to announce on Wednesday when the company reports come out whether they are moving online sports and phone betting to Gibraltar or not. Ladbrokes has kept quieter about its plans but will have to make a decision based on William Hills actions.

The result of the companies going offshore will cost the UK allot of money and cost the treasury allot in tax revenue.

Nine Brazilians and three US citizens have been arrested on charges of flying 200 Brazilian hookers to Las Vegas Casinos. Nine of the Brazilians and one of the US citizens were arrested in Brazil in a huge bust whilst the other 2 were arrested in the US. The girls were recruited by the gang in Brazil, they targeted Brazilian hookers and set them up as high class escorts ready for the Las Vegas punters. The gang generated a huge income of around $9 million a month, with the girls making around $40,000 a month a huge sum of money compared to what they would get back home, since then all bank accounts have been frozen of both the gangs and girls and all 12 of the gang are looking at up to 8 years in prison.
