Calvin Ayre is the founder of Bodog, a major online gaming and entertainment company founded by Ayre in 1994 at the beginning of the online gambling boom. Calvin Ayre was the son of a pig farmer and grew up in Canada. Ayre first started gambling with hockey team mates playing blackjack at a young age and had loads of other money making schemes up his sleeve. Ayre sold fruit on the side of the road, organised party trips to Cuba and eventually took a bad step and got in trouble with insider trading costing him a $10,000 fine and being banned until 2016 from the Vancouver Stock Exchange. In 1994 prior to Bodog Ayre sold everything he owned for $10000 and launched Bodog. Bodog made Ayre a Billionaire and he was named one of the “Most Eligible Billionaire Bachelors” in 2007. At Bodogs peak the company was taking $210 million a year with 25% of that being profit. Ayre retired from Bodog in 2008 to spend more time working on his charity the Calvin Ayre Foundation.
