Ao Man long, former transport secretary in southern Chinese territory faces 76 graft charges including bribery and money laundering. He has gathered a personal fortune of over 100 million which is currently under serious scrutiny. His salary is 57 times his income whilst in office and is made up of cash deposits, wine cellar, and jewellery. Both his father and brother are also up for corruption charges relating to him.
Ho could be sentenced to 30 years behind bars and he claims his innocence and said earlier this week trembling "I deeply regret all the disturbances that the whole case has caused to the government and the society," Ao told the court in a slightly trembling voice, according to a report in the South China Morning Post.
