Gambling Stories - A Memorial Day Weekend to Remember Part Two

I have been gambling a great many years in my life and I knew that I was on a rush like none I had ever experienced before. My next question to the Pit Boss was what amount could I wager on each hand. He stated up to $3000 per hand. I said thanks and made another $300 dollar bet with the Banker Side. I won and I parlayed and it won again. I added another $400 to the bet and it made the total wager $1000. The wager won again. I was lucky and I had had a few Daniels. It seemed like a good idea to take the Pit Boss up on his offer to play $3000 a hand. I did this and won three hands in a row before losing on a natural eight to a natural nine. The shoe had to be reshuffled and this gave me a few minutes to decide what I should do. My profit for the trip was substantial for me at that time and I wondered about what I should do. The next shoe was an overall winner for me and my total profit stood at $28000. At that time, that was the most money I had ever won in one session of gambling. I was tired, exhilarated and had been up over twenty-four hours. When the next shoe finished my total profit was $28700. I could see that the rush was ending and I needed to leave the table before I began to make stupid mistakes. I told the Pit Boss I wanted to cash out.

He asked where I was staying and I told him that I had just taken the bus up from California. He asked if I would like a room. Of course, that sounded great. They had no rooms. They were booked solid and the Pit Boss was sweating bullets, as I was about to leave the casino. He finally got me a room at the motel next door.

He arranged for a security guard to carry my chips to the cashier where I was given a receipt for my chips. The guard then escorted me to the motel next door and I swear I think he would have tucked me in, it I had asked.

When I awoke the next morning, I remembered that I had won, but not how much. When I looked in my pockets, I found my money clip with about $1800 in it and a crumpled piece of paper. When I looked at the receipt, I thought it read $2870 and then my vision cleared and I saw the real number of $28700. My headache disappeared immediately.

When I told the cashier I wanted all cash, she said to me that I would need something to carry it in. I got a brown paper bag from the casino shop and carried it around with me like my lunch; until it was time catch the bus to go home. It was definitely a Memorial Day weekend to remember.
